Sell the Company

Interviewing recruits is as much about you selling the company as it is about the recruit selling him/herself to you. If you want the top talent to be interested in the position, make sure you highlight the benefits of working in your company. This does not mean salary specifications! Potential employees want to see what else you can offer: team building workshops, educational opportunities, potential for advancement, gym memberships, complimentary coffee or snacks, etc. You have to show what could make your employees flourish.

Describe the Environment, Not Just the Position

People are constantly striving to achieve a work-life balance. If you can show them how your company helps that goal, it will make the company extremely attractive. Not only explain the position you are hiring for, but also the environment of the company. Are you reachable always? What is the atmosphere of work? How are the other employees? Do you organize specific activities? Etc. These variables can help provide a full picture of your company.  

Pay Attention to Employee Needs

Studies show that the most successful companies are the ones that have employees with the highest satisfaction levels. The companies that have achieved this are ones that are attentive to the needs of its employees and takes steps to meet those needs. Take Advantage of Social Media

Social media is a great tool for recruiting the top talent. Not only can you post open positions on platforms such as LinkedIn, but you can also use these platforms to approach potential recruits directly. If you find a profile of someone who seems like a great fit, reach out!  When you do, explain what your company does and who you are looking for. Even if they are not interested, it is still an opportunity to network. They might know of someone who would be a great fit and is looking.

Train Your Current Employees

When you are looking for top talent to fill an open position, often the best fit is already in your company.
